How Does the Exam Work?
The UCEED exam is designed to test your overall design aptitude, which includes both analytical thinking and creative skills. Here's how the exam works:
Two-Part Exam: UCEED is divided into two parts – Part A and Part B – and both parts must be attempted within a total of three hours.
Part A: This is a computer-based test with objective-type questions. It’s divided into three sections:
Numerical Answer Type (NAT): You’ll have to calculate answers and enter them directly (no options given).
Multiple Select Questions (MSQ): Each question may have one or more correct answers. Select all the correct options to score full marks.
Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ): You’ll choose one correct answer out of four options. Be careful – there’s a negative marking here!
Part B: This part focuses on your sketching abilities and design aptitude. You'll be given two questions to answer on a physical answer sheet, testing how well you can draw and visualize objects in proportion, as well as your creative problem-solving skills.
Marks Distribution:
Part A is worth 200 marks and consists of 57 questions.
Part B is worth 100 marks and consists of two questions.
Time Allotment:
2 hours are allotted for Part A.
1 hour is reserved for Part B.
